Retirement of Professor Marko Pavlyshyn

On 28 June, Professor Marko Pavlyshyn has retired from Monash University, where he has directed the Mykola Zerov Centre for Ukrainian Studies and served in several leadership roles in the School of Languages, Literatures, Cultures and Linguistics for more than three decades. In the picture below, you can see Marko and Kevin Foster, Head of School at Monash, during Marko’s semi-valedictory lecture on 28 June.
Marko is now an Emeritus Professor and he’s far from abandoning his research and supervision commitments within the Monash and the international community of Ukrainian Studies.
On 23 August, Marko has been awarded an Order of Merit by the President of Ukraine for his outstanding achievements in the field of Ukrainian culture.
